This past weekend saw the 1st Annual Pro-Line Gas Championships held at Thunder Alley in Beaumont, CA.

Team Orion Factory Drivers Ryan Cavalieri and Cody King were both in attendance. The race format consisted of two ten minute qualifiers on Saturday and one ten minute qualifier on Sunday. Then each drivers two best points would seed them into the Semi’s. A 15-minute Semi would be ran to fill the A-Main places.

In the Pro 1:8 buggy class, Ryan Cavalieri won his Semi by 11 seconds as well as the fastest time and would start first on the grid. Team Orion team-mate Cody King won his Semi by 9 seconds and would start 2nd for the 30 minute A-Main.

At the start of the main, Cavalieri got out to a clean start. King was involved in a first lap crash and would be shuffled back to sixth position.

5-minutes in Cavalieri was in 1st, Wheeler in 2nd, and Lutz in 3rd.
8-minutes in Wheeler and Bradley both break out
10-minutes in Cavalieri has a 10 second lead, King now in 2nd, Amezcua in 3rd
15-minutes in Cavalieri has a 7 second lead, King still in 2nd, Amezcua still in 3rd
20-minutes in Cavalieri has a 20 second lead, Amezcua now in 2nd, King now in 3rd
22-minutes in Cavalieri laps Ryan Lutz running in 4th place
25-minutes in Cavalieri has 25 second lead, Amezcua in 2nd, King in 3rd
29-minutes in Cody King posts the fastest lap of the race with a 31.904

At the end of the 30 minute A-Main, Cavalieri took the win by 25 seconds with his Team Orion powered Team Associated RC8. Cody King passed Travis Amezcua on the last lap to take second overall making it a Team Orion one-two on the podium.
