Last Sunday saw Team CometRC’s winning streak continue at the third round of the Carpet Thrashnals. Mete, Darren and myself went to Chippenham Model Car Clubs Carpet Thrashnals last Sunday. Mete entered into the Stock (17.5) class, Darren and I entered the Super Stock (13.5) class. The day started well when I put the quickest lap time in during practice, Darren was fourth fastest.
The three rounds of qualifying didn’t go without its issues, but in the end I set FTD in 13.5 to put me pole in the A with Darren qualifying eighth on the grid. Mete in 17.5 had a really productive day improving with each run, finding it a bit of a culture shock running an E4 electric car on a very tight carpet track, a world apart from his usual G4 nitro tourer on tarmac. With such a tight track the finals were pretty tense but I managed to keep it together and came away with two wins out of two. Darren fought well from the back of the grid and ended up with fifth in the first and a cracking third place finish in the second.

Mete’s finals saw his days improvement continue with a third place finish in the first and convincingly winning the second B final!! Good work!
So, all three of us has a great day and were really pleased with the final results, bring on the next round in January!
