Nick Gilbert Joins The CometRC/Team Magic Team
Nick Gilbert has goined the CometRC team to race the Team Magic G4RS in the 2010 season. Nick had this to say on his new ride and his switch from 1:8 buggy racing…
“I have been racing 1:8 Nitro Buggies for ages, after many years of dirt, dust and travelling all over the UK and abroad, I started to get bored with the genre. In an off the cuff conversation with a friend, we decided to buy a 1:10 gas car and have a go…â€
“Once I’d had a taste of the speed and close racing, I was hooked. I spent a few days practising and getting to know the setups and realised how much fun this class of racing could be. I decided to enter a race and see how I fared against the competition. To my surprise I wasn’t far off the pace.
I entered some more races and started to get a real feel for 1:10 cars. This is when I got a phone call from Mete at CometRC Racing…I was being offered a sponsored drive. Having just spent a small fortune on a car from another manufacturer…â€
“ At first I hesitated in accepting Mete’s offer. After a bit of head scratching and money juggling, I decided to go for it. Oh boy, am I glad I did, straight out of the box the G4RS had more grip and was so planted, I new I had made the right the decision! I’m looking forward to spending 2010 behind the wheel of the G4RS.â€
