New Silverstone Off-Road Meeting
Silverstone Model Car Club are organising a new 1:10 off-road meeting. This will be a yearly meeting and along with the racing side of things they are hoping to make it a real show. The club have started from scratch this year putting in 100’s of hours of labour and 1000’s of pounds of their own money to produce a club and track worthy of the best meetings.
For what? Well, 1:10 off-road is gaining popularity at a huge rate… but, most of the people joining are ex-racers from over the years! The aim is to get new blood into the sport and the way SMCC are looking to do this is by providing a spectacle for onlookers…they will need your help though!
The plans for the weekend are the following:
- 2wd and 4wd to be run over two days – 80/90 drivers per class.
- Dash for cash race – Names to be drawn from hat for each class.
- Marquee for pitting and evening entertainment.
- Camping – The club have large area.
- Trade/shop stands – SMCC are inviting you guys to display what you sell! All the club ask is a donation for raffle.
- Raffle – Open to visitors and racers.
- RC demonstrations for visitors.
- Evening entertainment – Bar, BBQ, Live bands and Hog roast.
- Newspaper/magazine coverage.
- Control tyre for the event – SMCC will invite companies to apply.
As you can see from the above they are looking to make this a real RC weekend event, and in an ideal place; ‘The home of British Motorsport’

Pitches for stands are free of charge but SMCC ask for a donation for the raffle. Banners and promotional products will be required so if you wish to have your company name on view then again let the club know what you can offer.
