CML Launches Associated Junior Academy
Racer has received exciting news from the CML Distribution/Associated on-road team that next season they will launch a new young driver initiative. The Associated Junior Academy will take on four young drivers to develop them through the 2011 season. The selected drivers will work closely with the likes of Olly Jefferies, Alan Bickerstaff, Steve Lander and Chris Slater, being located in their own dedicated awning next to the main members of the team. The idea is that these drivers will develop through the season and benefit from working with a team renowned for the way it shares its information on car preparation and set-up.
This new incentive comes on the eve of the UK launch of the Associated TC6 touring car and the team are excited at the prospect. Current team members will be looking at the performance of potential candidates over the winter season, with the announcement on the final academy line-up being expected early in the new year. The Associated Junior Academy will also be responsible to prepare and help run a celebrity car. A TC6 will be given to the team to be raced by the guest driver at national meetings with the likes of Craig Drescher and CML’s Jason Varley already being lined up to drive.
