BTCC Winter Open News
The Schumacher Racing-sponsored BTCC Winter Open took place at Moto Arena in November and attracted a good quality entry for this one-off single day touring car meeting. Reigning UK National Champion Chris Grainger led the field away in the Super Touring class, but it was the Associated TC6 of Olly Jefferies that would go on to take FTD and win both legs of the A final ahead of a hard-charging Colin Price and Johnny Aird.
In Pro Stock it was another Associated driver showing the way. Chris Slater, using the older TC5 mirrored Olly’s performance taking the top spot in qualifying and a clean sweep of the A finals with Andy Robson second and Sam Clifton completing the Pro Stock 10.5T podium.
In 13.5T Pro Stock, Andrew Carter provided the event sponsors with success as he toof FTD with his Mi4 before going on to win both legs of the A final ahead of Moto Arena regular Scott Hauser and Andrew Keen third.
The meeting was well received by all the drivers many who had not visited Moto Arena prior to the event.
