Shepherd Racing Velox V8 2011
Here are the first pictures of the new Velox V8 2011 that Shepherd hope will take the V8 to the next level. The most interesting part is the rear end as the V8 2011 has a new rear anti-roll bar mount that sees the it fixed directly to the rear bulkheads , eliminating tension that can stress the gear shaft bearings. The position is much lower for an improved centre of gravity whilst bearings eliminate play for more direct response. Combined with the three different thicknesses of anti-roll bar, this is one of the highlights of the Velox V8 2011.
Also new on the car is a one-piece upper wishbone bracket gives additional stability and easy access for maintenance. The radio plate and mount are quite different with the latter using a completely new flexible system with a sliding bar fixed by ball bearings. The updated radio plate is mounted on the sliding bar for optimised flex and to fix the radio plate and drive without flex, only two screws are needed so it’s not necessary to have two different radio plates ready.
The single-piece electronic tray features a laydown throttle/brake servo as well as the possibility to use a receiver box. Fixed by only three screws, all the electronics can be removed easily for maintenance. Pricing information will be released at the Nuremberg Toy Fair whilst shipping is expected in March. Please note that some of the photos still show prototype parts.
