Serpent S811 Cobra-Be 1:8 Electric Buggy
The Be is the latest addition to the Cobra family and has been designed by former World Champion, Billy Easton. The Cobra-Be follows the same design philosophy as the nitro-powered Serpent buggy and shares many of the same components as well. The whole central section with battery slots, speed controller and receiver holder, servo mount and motor mount, chassis plate, rear wing/wing mount and the body are the key new developments in the Cobra-Be.
Keeping the weight as low as possible, easy access to batteries, speed controller and motor, and retaining a perfect balanced and fast car under all circumstances were the main goals to create a race-winning design. This Serpent/Easton design is not just about replacing nitro elements with electric power, but a dedicated design which uses the available space in an optimal way.
The main features are laydown longitudinal placed battery packs at each side of the car being part of the side-guards, securely fastened with a flip-lid, for easy and fast battery changes. The motor is placed in the most optimal position in the car, keeping motor forces and transmission parts/alignment in mind. Only one-screw is needed to secure the motor. There is sufficient space available even for the larger brands of speed controllers with vents in the moulded mount that also integrates the vertically positioned steering servo. This model shares the famous S811 Cobra’s shocks, diffs, front and rear suspension, angled steering/servo saver system, anti-roll bars, carbon fibre shock towers and durable spring-steel drivetrain and wheel axles. Many of the optional items from the nitro-powered Cobra also fit the Cobra-Be, and this will be featured on the Serpent website soon.
