Sweep Carpet Challenge at TQ Raceway
The first annual Sweep Challenge Carpet race was held at TQ Raceway in Chino on 30 October 2011. There were 60 drivers that generated 12 qualifying heats for the event. The track owner Sean Park did a great job of creating a layout on the 90x45ft sub-floored track that fostered close racing in all the classes. The Sweep QTS-32 “Real Blue” was used as the control tyre for the event and provided superior traction and consistent lap times for all the drivers throughout the day. The most exciting race of the day was the 17.5T Expert Touring Car class which saw local hot shoe Alex Navarrete have to start last after failing to complete a qualifying round and subsequently come back to finish in first place ahead of the class TQ, Francis Mejia. In the end, TQ ran a flawless event and the drivers enjoyed a huge raffle with prizes provided by Sweep Racing and all the other event sponsors.
