This is Serpent’s new lighter gear differential that features composite gears and hard coated aluminium outdrives for less rotating mass and smoother power delivery. The housing is super compact and light, with the internal gears made from a very durable composite, whilst the former aluminium axles are replaced by a composite version. The steel drive cups are replaced by hard-coated aluminium ones with the result being less rotating mass and a smoother diff action. The sintered gears can still be used in the diff case, and some drivers also combine the aluminium and composite gears for a different feel and action.
