The Greek National Championship got underway last weekend and it was John Sotiropoulos that dominated the race at the FRT track with his Serpent 747. Saturday practice showed that Sotiropoulos was fast as he set the pace with his Max-powered Serpent. That speed carried through to qualifying on Sunday as he TQ’d the event ahead of Shepherd’s top two challengers. Starting the final from pole position, Sotiropoulos had the perfect start and showed great pace. Once the race had settled down, the Serpent driver started to extend his lead eventually crossing the line some three laps clear of second placed n driver Vangelis Totomis (Capricorn) and another three laps clear of Nick Karabelas after 45-minutes of racing. Also in the A final for Serpent was Dimitris Papadopoulos who returned to 1:10 scale who started ninth but unfortunately retired after just 37 laps with radio problems.
