The soon to be released E-Car wins in the hands of JQ Products’ factory team driver Chris Marrale. Chris sent JQ the following report from the race:
13-14 April saw round three of the Grass Roots Racing Series, a local race series that travels to Thunder Alley, Pro-Line, and Palm Desert Raceway. With electric and nitro on alternate days, this round had nitro and E-buggy on Saturday with short course on Sunday. This weekend was at Pro-Line’s private test track with a new Levi Jackson/SiK Track Designs layout. On Saturday morning the fresh track was really loose as a racing groove began to form, and conditions completely changed as the 115 plus entry day went on-it became dry/hard packed and had great traction come finals time. After not getting any morning practice for E-buggy, I forgot about a damaged servo wire from the last race, and didn’t finish the first round. The second round was better when I got used to the car and track, which put me second for the final. Come the finals, the track was dry and high bite, something I’ve never ran my E-buggy on. Throughout the ten-minute final there were several lead changes, but I ended up taking the win in the last minute over Brian Sullivan. I was surprised how well the car handles and carries corner speed at every track I’ve been to, without any set-up changes or maintenance for that matter in months! After it’s released in the coming weeks, I’m going to predict THE E-Car will be on a lot podiums this year.
