Schumacher have released their first tyre for the large-scale off-road racing class. The Schumacher Wave tyre is based on their legendary Minispike and Spiral tyres that have been hugely successful in 1:10 and 1:8 scale respectively. The unique Wave pattern features denser spikes in the middle to maximise forward traction progressing to fewer at the edges to reduce aggressiveness when cornering. The Wave is available in yellow compound for grass and Astroturf tracks and in the softer silver compound for wet weather racing, and is designed to fit on 110mm diameter wheels.
The tyre made its debut at the British large-scale national in Wakefield just last weekend. Ian Oddie set TQ in the wet round with the silver compound Wave tyres by a stunning 11 seconds. He used the yellow compound tyres in the final to finish a strong second with Dave Ashton, also on Schumacher Wave tyres in fifth.
