Serpent designer Billy Easton, the former 1:10 2WD World Champion and the designer of the successful Cobra series of cars has created the new Spyder 2WD competition buggy. Starting this project from scratch, his aim was to make it exactly as he wanted. Serpent decided to create a purpose built rear motor version first of all and then create a mid motor version after. The mid-motor version will also be purpose built sharing many parts with its rear engine relative. The idea was to build two condition specific designs, with the highest level of performance possible. Drivers per race will be able to choose either version and will not have to make any changes on the spot. Key features of the Spyder 2WD are:
High performance race geometry
Rear motor design
Unique steering block design
Big bore 12mm RCM type shocks with dual system
Innovative shock tower design
Highly Efficient Steering Ackerman
Adjustable rear differential height
Three pad slipper clutch
Narrow composite chassis design
Low, cab forward body
