The second round of the popular Herts Nitro Model Club’s winter series saw another great day of racing. A break in the weather favoured the venue again and an outstanding effort saw the track readied on Saturday for racing on Sunday. The prep work also saw the club extend the Astroturf track in readiness for a bad winter. This round saw an entry of 72 racers braving the cold and in nitro buggy Lee Martin took TQ. Fastest in E-buggy was Simon Reeves and TQ in truggy went to Richard Cousins.
The first finals were for nitro Buggy and the E final was won by Jeremy Irving from Jeff Wheeler and Tehannah Cradock. Stuart Parnell won the D final ahead of Mark Kay and Jamie Reeks. The C final was a Kyosho whitewash as Tommy Chung won from Shaun Howe and Taro Cradock. Nemo Racing’s Jon Hazlewood won the B final ahead of the Kyoshos of Lewis Jones and Tommy Chung. The A final saw Lee Martin convert his pole to the win for Mugen with TLR’s Simon Reeves second and Agama’s Oliver Curry third.
The truggy A final saw pole man Richard Cousins win ahed of James Morl and Philip Michael whilst in E-buggy Simon Reeves also won from pole with Nigel Morris second and Rhys Herd third. Full results from round two can be found here.
The HNMC AGM takes place on 26 November at 19:30 for 20:00 in the small hall at Westmill Farm SG12 0ES. Other interesting news is that the club has bid to host European B Championships in 2015 so watch this space for more news…
