Serpent is proud to announce that Top-driver Mike Truhe is joining Team Serpent. Mike Truhe, is a highly respected and experienced RC driver has joined the Serpent race team team where he will mainly race their off-road cars in 1:10 and 1:8, EP and GP, and the planned 4WD 1:10 buggies and SCT as well. Here is a brief interview with Mike:.
Q: When did you start racing and with which car ?
A: I started racing in 1999 with a Losi XX buggy.
Q: Where is your local track located?
A: My local track is OCRC raceway in Huntington Beach, CA.
Q: What has been your biggest national and international result so far ?
A: I have won the 2WD buggy class at the ROAR Nationals in 2005 and 2010. I also have won the 1:8 nitro buggy nationals in 2008 and also was TQ and runner-up at the world championships that same year.
Q: Which class do you enjoy the most ?
A: 2WD modified buggy.
Q: Which classes will you run with Serpent ?
A: I will focus on all of the off-road classes that Serpent will have to offer and possibly might run a few nitro on-road events in the future.
Q: Which radio, engine, electronics and tyres will you use ?
A: This year I’ll be using Futaba radios, TOP engines, Novak electronics and Pro-Line tyres.
Q; What is your age and occupation?
A: I am 30-years-old and will be helping in development as well as sales.
Q: What is your favourite full scale racing category and driver ?
A: I’d say supercross is my favourite and Ryan Villopoto would be my choice for that .
Q: What is favourite food?
A: I like a good Italian meal.
Q: Which main races do you plan for 2014 ?
A: I will attend all of the major races here in the USA and hopefully a few international races. The Reedy Race, Nitro Challenge, AMS , all of the nationals , the Byron race and many more.
Q: When and where will be your first race with Serpent ?
A: Racing the invitational class at the Reedy Race of Champions at OCRC raceway in a few short weeks.
