Wakefield were the hosts for round three of the BRCA 1:8 Off-Road National Championship following the cancellation of round two at Coventry. It had been some 12 weeks since Elliott Boots wrapped up the win at Herts for the opening round and it felt like the start of the season all over again, but the result would end up being the same. Wakefield as always put a huge amount of effort in to their track ahead of the meeting that would see Graham Alsop take round one TQ before Elliott powered through to take the next four rounds and top honours in qualifying. Elliott Boots’s Kyosho, Lee Martin’s Mugen and Darren Bloomfield’s Agama would be the class of the field all taking turns to lead the final, but it would be Elliott at the 20-minute mark who would break free and start to stretch out a lead seeing him untroubled until the end of the race to take the victory with Lee Martin second and Darren Bloomfield third.
