brca-cotswolds-modThe popular fast flowing layout of the Cotswolds track hosted round four of this season’s BRCA 1:10 Touring Car National series. With both the stock and modified classes wide open this season, the penultimate round provided even more action and sets a up a classic final round shootout at the final round.
In modified, the Xray of Olly Jefferies set TQ ahead of Schumacher’s Chris Grainger and these two had a clear advantage over the chasing pack of Elliott Harper who was third for Team Durango.
The pro stock class saw Chris Gunter take TQ ahead of reigning champion Zak Finlay and Daren Lee.
The first three nationals of the season have all been rain affected, but the drivers were treated to good weather through qualifying and the majority of the finals with the exception of the final three races in modified that were rain affected.
With two wins from the first two A legs, Olly Jefferies took overall victory. In the final rain affected last final Chris Grainger took the win ahead of Olly Jefferies giving him second place ahead of Chris Kerswell in third. Victory for Olly meant four rounds and four different winners in the modified super touring class of 2014.
brca-cotswolds-pro-stockIn pro stock Chris Gunter converted his pole position in to a win giving him his first ever national A final win, behind Chris Zak Finlay was second and Darren Lee third.
The final round of the series takes place at another quick trick and Mendip in just over four weeks time. In modified Andy Moore will return and he is one of five drivers capable of taking the overall title. In pro stock Finlay still looks favourite, but he will have to work hard to fight off a strong challenge from Chris Gunter and Lee Price.
