With the British weather playing ball at long last, the dirt track was prepped to national standard for the ninth round of the HNMC winter series. Some 85 racers were greeted with a fast high grip track, so thanks to all that spared their time to make this happen. Qualifying was close and saw TQ in nitro buggy taken by Oliver Currie, Simon Reeves in E-buggy and Matt Bridge in truggy.
The E final in nitro buggy went to Nigel Morris from Dominic Powles and David Baffa. Howard Elston won the D final from Wayne Buckhorn and Wes Jolly. The top three in the C final were Darren Hayden-Ball, Matt Perry and Kieran Cox and Darren then went on to win the B final from Harry Philips and Damian Tigwell. Oliver Currie converted pole position into the win for Agama from the Team Associated of Jamie Clancy and TLR of Karl Jackson. The club want to highlight the sportsmanship showed by Simob Reeves for demoting himself a position from third to fourth after a racing incident.
Team Associated drivers Simon Reeves and Alex Mortimer took first and second in the E-buggy A final with Neil Sivins third.
Matt Bridge won the truggy final from the pole position followed home by Martin Hart and Bailey Webb.
Full results can be found here. The next event is the tenth round of the winter series on 13 March.
