Jonny Smith Attends Toy Fair To See Scorcher

TV Presenter and motoring journalist to feature re-release of iconic model.

Fifth Gear Presenter Jonny Smith attended the Nurnberg Toy Fair to see the much awaited full size Tamiya Sand Scorcher. Jonny who also contributes to a number of leading motoring titles, including Sunday Times In-Gear visited the show as part of a feature he is writing for a number of leading publications.

He began his schedule by visiting Bug Box the company behind the amazing 1:1 scale Sand Scorcher. There he saw the Tamiya icon before it began its journey by trailer to the famous Toy Fair. “As a massive Tamiya RC fan this has to be one of the most exciting features I have had to write. The attention to detail is very impressive. Seeing the Sand Scorcher was an incredible, but hearing it running was great… I’m sure it would fail every EU noise regulation” he enthused.

Jonny later interviewed Fumito Taki, the designer of the legendary car to gauge his opinion on this remarkable tribute to one of his creations in front of an onlooking crowd of local media and Tamiya officials.

The full size Sand Scorcher has been built to co-inside with the release of the item which is due to go on sale in the UK at the end of February.
