Alberto Garcia Wins Cartt Cup

This past weekend (Oct. 2-3, 2010) was the Cartt Cup at Fuencarral track. This was one of the most exciting finals of the last races in Spain, with a huge battle between two pro drivers.

The main final was an amazing show between TQ’d Alberto Garcia (Mugen/Reds) and Juanma Guillen (Mugen/Reds). In the first laps Alberto García made a big mistake and went down to last position while Juanma Guillen took the lead keeping a gap of 20 seconds over the second driver.

Suddenly the rain appears and the track changed completely turning a high grip surface for a very slippery track, with lap times 5 seconds slower. Alberto García took advantage with these new conditions with his huge experience of 1:10 2WD driving. He reduced the gap to the leader, lap after lap, until the last minute of the race where Alberto Garcia finally overtakes Juanma Guillen to take the win. Amazing final laps between both drivers!
