Serpent Cobra-T Truggy
Designer and team driver Billy Easton has been working on Serpent’s truggy project, since the release of the Cobra buggy. The Cobra-T shares many parts and design elements of the buggy, but still features many different aspects and requires quite a selection of specific parts as well. The larger wheels and tyres, along with the different body style and longer wheelbase require intensive testing to find again the right balance in the truggy, the correct level of grip and be very good on large jumps too.
According to Serpent, “The end result is a very sleek and “low” design, with a perfect side-to-side and front-to-back balance, making it very nimble car and easy to push very hard out on the track. Acceleration and jumping are awesome, as you can also see in the short video posted a few days ago.” Click here for video.
The Serpent Cobra-T will feature the new radio box design that has been made for the buggy whilst the gear ratios for the diffs and clutch are fully aimed at truggy racing. Other then shown in the images, the Serpent Cobra-T will most likely feature the CNC machined 7075 T6 shock towers with the carbon fibre version being optional.
Serpent say that the full specs will follow in the next few weeks, with more images and an interview with the designer Billy before he heads out to the World Championships in Thailand. Release of the Serpent Cobra-T is planned for early December 2010.
