Mike Reedy 1941-2011

Racer was saddened to hear that RC legend Mike Reedy passed away at 01:08 on 17 May. Mike was an inspiration and mentor to many of the top RC drivers around the world. In the month of his 70th birthday, Brent Thielke and other members of Team Associated brought back the off-road version of the Reedy International Race of Champions and once again this  brought together the top racers from around the world to compete at. The Reedy Race came about as a way for Mike to celebrate his birthday and this was no different. It was all about the competition but having fun doing it. Unfortunately, Mike suffered from a serious long-term illness after retiring from his role at Team Associated in 2004 and so was unable to attend, but the legend and his legacy will live on in the Reedy brand and the races that bore his name. Our thoughts are with Mike’s family and friends at this sad time.
