Elvo Heremans Wins in at Liege
The penultimate round of the BeNeLux Championship was run last weekend at Liege in Belgium. X Factory’s Bruno “Elvo†Heremans and Stefan Mesker dominated the event with their X-6 Squareds. Mesker TQ’d the Liege event with Heremans second on the grid. They dominated the three A final legs with Elvo taking the first two and Stefan the third.
After six of seven rounds with five to count, Stefan Mesker leads the Championship by one point ahead of Heremans. Elvo was forced to miss the first race due to a skiing injury so the pressure is on him to do well in the final race. Nobody else is within five points of Mesker, so Stefan can only lose the Championship if Elvo TQs and wins and Stefan finishes fourth or below. If Stefan wins, he will successfully defend the crown he won last year with his X-6 Squared. X Factory are currently dominating with five cars in the top eight of the BeNeLux series at this point. In the podium photo, race winner Bruno is in the middle with Stefan Mesker on the right and third place Wesley Van Helmond.
