The World Gate resort in Orlando, Florida was the site of the 12th running of the world-famous Snowbird Nationals. Featuring road course and oval classes, the ‘Birds is the best-attended indoor race in the world. Competitors from as far away as Europe and Asia battled against a strong field of American and Canadian drivers.
In the Expert TC class, Québécois Keven Hébert and his Reedy/LRP-powered TC6.1 showed up early and on the pace. Featuring 17.5T motors and boosted speed controls, the Expert TC class is one of the most popular and prestigious classes offered. Hébert topped the time sheets in the second round and maintained his advantage throughout the remainder of qualifying to claim the advantageous pole position for the single A final event.
On the small ballroom circuit, pole position is a huge advantage. Keven took full command of the situation with a perfect start while leaving the rest of the field to fight for scraps. Alone and out front, Keven maintained a healthy gap and led wire to wire for the win, which netted him a great trophy and a panoramic view from the top step of the podium.
A Reedy Sonic 17.5T motor and an all-new #601 65C 6500mAh LiPo battery were the foundation of Keven’s winning ride. An LRP SXX Stock Spec speed control with boost in full effect rounded out the package.
