The start to the year has not been great with regard to conditions at Herts Nitro Model Club but for round eight, they managed to get out onto their impressive dirt track. Some 85 drivers made the trip and were rewarded with a smooth fast surface to race on. It was however, very cold but at least it stayed dry.
Qualifying in buggy went to Karl Jackson driving the new TLR 8ight 3.0 just piping the Agama of Jon Hazlewood. Tommy Chung took top honours in the truggy class. The A buggy final was an epic final with Tony Truman (Agama), Jackson and Hazlewood battling for the lead throughout Tony edging it at the end. The F final in buggy was won by Steve Bellwood from Adrian Morrish and Peter Bird. Rob Cuss own the E final as Neil Martin was second and Jeremy Irving third. The D final win went to Neil Sivins from Graham Howard and Luke Walsham as Matthew Wheeler won the C final with Michael Daniel second and Graham Howard third. Bumping up to the A final from the B final in buggy was Jonny Roberts with Steve Biscoe second and Jonathan Skidmore third.
In the truggy class, Richard Cousins took the win from Darren Warburton and James Tatlow.
