David Ronnefalk, the youngster from Sweden, was at his best last weekend in Reims, France for the 2013 EFRA 1:8 Off-Road European Championship. Ronnefalk quickly became among the pace-setters in practice, including AKA team mate Jerome Aigoin, with his choice of Super Soft Handlebars. Ronnefalk started qualifying on top taking the TQ in Q1 and didn’t slow down much with a second in Q2, and a pair of wins in Q3 and Q5, easily securing the overall TQ.
With a 45-minute final looming and a start on the front of the grid, David went with the same tyres that he was running all week, Super Soft Handlebars. After building a bit of a gap on the field throughout the main, one mistake would test the nerves and the skills of Ronnefalk as his closest competitor, Reno Savoya, would catch up with less than a minute to go and battle through the final lap. Ronnefalk was able to stay rock solid and composed, crossing the finish line first and becoming the 2013 Euros Champion. His AKA team mate, Martin Bayer, also drove a stellar race, earning himself the third spot on the podium. Of the 12 finalists five were on AKA tyres
