With very bad weather forecast for Sunday, only 49 racers made the trip to Westmill for the seventh round of their summer series. The HNMC team and Westmill farm team had cleared the track on Saturday and the conditions were looking good. Racing started early at 09:45 as heavy rain was due at 16:00. The top qualifying position in buggy went to Janos Nagy, Bart Banach took TQ in E-buggy and Kyle Hill in truggy.
In the finals, Hai Chu won the D final from Steve Chandler and Peter Bird. Keith Harris was first in the C final with Joe Cockill second and Jamie Reeks third. The B final was won by Richard Cousins from Joe Cockill and Peter Palmer. The A final saw the TQ man take second with Kevin Brunsden winning from Janos and Darren Warburton.
Bart Banach converted his E-buggy TQ into a win with Patrick Honnor second and Steve Dean third. The truggy A final saw a win for Colin Drummond ahead of TQ Kyle Hill with Nick Theo third.
A great day thanks to all and we finish 30 minutes before the heavy rain started! The next race meeting at the venue is the SRS on 22 September and you can book in here.
