The 2014 ROAR 1:8 and 1:10 4×4 SCT Electric Off-Road Nationals were held this past weekend at Mike’s Hobby Shop in Porter, Texas. This year’s track would put every manufacturers’ products to the extreme test with a high-traction surface, combined with large flowing jump sections that included a massive centre triple jump. Team Orion Factory Drivers including Dakotah Phend, Jared Tebo, and Cody King all made the trip to Texas to battle it out for a shot at a ROAR National Championship.
In 4×4 modified short course class Dakotah Phend would TQ three out of four rounds to take the overall TQ. There would be triple leg A finals over six minutes and Dakotah would go on to win legs one and two from tone to tone to take first ROAR National Championship of the weekend.

Jared Tebo would start second with Kyosho/Team Orion team mate Cody King in third. This would lock up Dakotah’s second ROAR National Championship of the weekend.
In the electric buggy class, Dakotah would continue his impressive form by winning all four rounds of qualifying and lining up ahead of Jared Tebo would start second. The A finals in this class would be ten mined long and Dakotah took leg one with a perfect run. In leg two Jared took advantage of an early mistake by Dakotah and pull off the win. This would bring the last ROAR National Championship down to the third and final leg. Dakotah would lead the field around for lap one but then made a mistake by the start-finish line flipping over. Jared was able to get by and would have a full straight lead on lap two. Jared then flipped in the same spot as Dakotah that handed the lead to Mugen’s Drew Moller. Drew would hold the lead for a few laps and then crashed, passing the lead to a hard-charging Dakotah. Dakotah would go onto drive a safe and consistent pace for the last five minutes to complete the perfect sweep of the weekend with his third ROAR National Championship.
